Terms and Conditions

General

All our services are covered by our general terms and conditions, including those which may be directly related to the product or service you are using in which case those will also apply. By registering and/or otherwise accessing any of the services or products offered by Selectweb Internet you agree to be bound by all our Terms and Conditions.

Hosting

We reserve the right to remove access to our services due to a violation of any of these conditions outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

We do not allow any of the following content to be saved, transferred or distributed on our servers and/or network;

  • Adult Material - includes erotic images/videos, pornography, sexual content or obscene content.
  • Restricted Items - Website's or files containing restricted items such as the sale of weapons or certain chemicals.
  • Offensive Material - Website's or documents which causes upset, anger, hurt and/or distress to visitors
  • Copyrighted Material - Unless you own the copyright or have the written permission of the copyright owner you are not permitted to host any content which violates copyright law in any country or state. You must be able to prove ownership of any rights.
  • Warez - Including cracks, hacks, serials and other content which may bypass copyright enforcement
  • Malware - Any file which harmful to download including Viruses, Trojans, Backdoors and Spyware.

You may not;

  • Resell our services to a third-party without prior agreement
  • Use our services to host malicious and/or hostile code
  • Host illegal or offensive material
  • Host IRC, Torrents, Download Engines and other protocol clients/servers
  • Cause disrupt, damage or failure to our network or other networks

E-mail (RouteMX, Hosting, Exchange)

Bulk or Spam Messaging

You are not permitted to send large volumes of e-mail from our network, especially in cases where the e-mail would be defined as spam. If you are found to be sending high volumes of e-mail we may contact you to review your e-mail requirements. In the UK it is unlawful to send bulk messages to recipients who have not signed up (opted-in) to receive your e-mails.

The maximum number of recipients per message is 10, we will not extend this figure under any circumstances. Your account will be disabled upon investigation if we receive complaints about a large number of unsolicited mail or fraudulent e-mails.

If we receive a complaint and/or we find that you are sending unsolicited e-mail, we reserve the right to terminate and remove access to our services.

Security of E-mail accounts

It is the customers responsibility to protect their e-mail account against unauthorised access. We encourage users to change their password on a regular basis, making use of special characters and numbers. We cannot be held responsible for loss of service, data or issues that are related to unauthorised access to your e-mail account.

We employ anti-spam and anti-virus on our mail servers, however it is not 100% effective is preventing all threats. We still advise the customer has anti virus installed on their machine/network and use common sense when opening potentially suspicious e-mails.

Fair Use

We have to ensure everyone gets a great level of service. If you use an excessive amount of bandwidth we may contact you to discuss your requirements to ensure that your on the right package for your requirements.

If you exceed your bandwidth quota or use an extreme amount of bandwidth we reserve the right to remove access to your service. Our network runs QoS to ensure fair bandwidth distribution, we cannot ensure optimum performance for our shared hosting accounts, though we do our best to keep ahead of demand. In serious cases where our bandwidth providers notify us of very excessive bandwidth use, we may ask you to cancel your contract and move to another provider.

Security

We monitor all accounts, traffic and servers 24/7 and will block any unwanted activity at anytime.

Attempting to damage our network, bring servers down or attempt to overload our systems will be investigated with all possible means and take legal action where required. If we suspect an account has been hacked, we may suspend the account and investigate the issue.

You are responsible for the security of your account, please employ good passwords and ensure all scripts/website's are updated regularly.

Uptime

Although we do our very best to hold a 99.9% uptime, we cannot avoid natural causes or unforeseen issues. Although we employ the use of backup systems to help prevent unforeseen downtime, occasionally there could be issues that are out of our control. We must also make allowances for system upgrades and ongoing maintenance of which you will be notified in advance.

Problems at your end or that of a third party provider that may cause issues that cannot be avoided and therefore are not in our money-back guarantee. If a system failure was unplanned and exceeded the allowable threshold we may refund part of your monthly rental.

Data

You should also keep your account details safe to ensure unauthorised users cannot gain access to your account. YOU MUST backup all data regularly. Although our server has backups, we hold NO responsibility for loss of data either by unauthorised access or corruption/deletion.

Performance

We cannot ensure speed at all times, due to network congestion and the nature of the Internet in general. We regularly check to ensure our services are running at optimal speed.

The Law

It is your responsibility for the data on your website both legally and technically. You should also ensure that any content saved or distributed on our services complies with all UK and EU law - do not distribute this content through our network if you feel it may violate the law. This includes using the service to promote things of an unlawful nature.

Billing

Payments must be received promptly or service will be suspended. If no payment is received after a maximum 14 days, without prior arrangement, the account may be suspended or a late fee applied depending on the conditions.

If you are overdue for a period of time we may have to cancel your account and pass the overdue payment to a debt collection agency.

We reserve the right to charge disconnection fee's if the customer decides to end the contract before the contract ends. The default period is 12 months from the first payment date.

Other clauses

The general rule is not to abuse our service. We are here to provide a service to our customers and we are happy to provide the best service we can.
